Wisdom means paying enough attention to what the most would overlook
Great optimism in its foundation means great fear. The weaklings are usually optimistic, whereas the pessimists are normally closer to the reality. It is thus known that the deepest art works stem from the greatest pessimism.
Optimism is one of the naïve deceptions of this world. We are passing by from day to day and there is no need for it. The only thing that makes sense is the acceptance of this fact and we can thus be at peace in the final sense. But this state is neither optimism nor pessimism. Jesus Christ said: ‘I am giving you peace, yet not the peace that is in optimism offered by this world. I am giving you the real peace of the world beyond, the origin of which lies in the secret of acceptance of your transience.’
